I Got Sinister Torn Ignorance of Witches - Music of March 2018

March has come and gone and Easter is early this year! The first two weeks of my hospital placement are short and the first week flew by so quickly.

The four weeks of being back on campus definitely dragged and when we booked our vacation down South to the Caribbean for my birthday, I had something to look forward to.

I'm just going to jump straight into it.

5. Bebe Rexha - I Got You

Fun fact: the first time I heard this song was when my mom and I were eating dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe in downtown Toronto. (I still can't believe they are closing that place down! Food, service, and atmosphere is great there). Then I heard it on the radio and was reminded how much I liked it. There are just some pop songs that do that to you. The pre-chorus is repetitive, but the rest of the song is great. I can think of it as two people who had had difficult times in life and are there for one another as friends or lovers. I, of course am there for my friends who have had tough times, and my S…

Bed Before 12

It's another eventful Sunday, ah not my favourite time of the week.

It's mainly because of the insomnia that kicks in when there's a workweek ahead. Tomorrow I start my hospital placement and it's pretty exciting. I did get a chance to see the pharmacy in advance before I am set to begin and hopefully this experience will be just as great.

Other than that, I have a new found love for lip gloss thanks to Urban Decay, I want to get shades from each finish. Got metallic and cream, now for sheer and holographic, ah choices choices.....

Oh, and I pre-ordered Sexorcism in a heartbeat, just the digipak, I don't need any extra shit. The music is all I need. People brag their butts off about getting box set but the method supporting a band is different per person. Just because one spends more money on them and has more stuff than the other, does not define how strong one's support is. Don't you agree?

I've been thinking about trying Alien: Isolation again, seein…

Fly Now

Yep, naming this one after a GWAR song.

Something slipped my mind recently, and it happened after I watched Get Smart a few nights ago.

First of all, remember the scene where Max and Agent 99 have to skydive to their location and deal with that big thug along the way? That has always been my favourite scene.

I always have these dreams of flying: sometimes there are obstacles in my way like telephone wires that I want to overcome, I might be flying to escape something/someone, I'm singing the same song [Carolus Rex] every time I fly, or all of the above. Then, there's the matter of the higher I fly, the freer I feel.

Thing is, skydiving, hang gliding, and parasailing are probably the closest humanity can get to being able to fly. I want some action in my life and I lack the money to make most of those things happen. Can you honestly see me doing any of those things? I can see myself doing the first two, but maybe I'll skip parasailing; if I'm going to be towed by a boat…

The Supermonstars' New Groove

After several weeks of silence, we finally got a hint that something wicked this way was coming.

During the quiet periods, I like to keep my followers engaged on my Lordi fanpage for fans in my continent.

After recording was done, there was a long period of silence and I was anxious to know what was happening. In the past, the band members have sometimes posted teaser images on social media foreshadowing what was to come. This time, there was nothing until Mana made an announcement. I was sitting in class and the instructor just dismissed us for a 5-minute break. I checked online to discover this:

A new era is here! Every time Lordi update their look, I have a little heart attack. It won't be easy moving forward since the last era was the first I saw live, but the future is full of uncharted waters.

There haven't been many photos released yet, but I can sum it up for you: I was surprised as hell given how unique each of their outfits were this time.

OX, oh man he is practicall…

Let's Be Surprised!

While impatiently waiting for more photos of Lordi's new costumes so I can write about it, I bring to you this little rant:

Do you like surprises? I definitely do, but they're not for everyone. There are, in fact, some people on the spectrum who hate being surprised. I'm not sure why, but if it's like your general surprise party, then maybe it's because they like something exactly the way they want it and don't want anything unexpected.

I try not to be too demanding with anything in life, whether its movies, books or bands. People get easily upset if there is something revealed and it isn't precisely what it should be to them.

Over the years and even today I am trying to lower my expectations with anything in life. It isn't easy because my anxiety gets the better of me, especially in my professional life. But, if it's something that isn't in that category, you can expect me to be relaxed.

For example, Nightwish has begun embarking on their 9-mon…

Because no other title is suitable.

Yes, that was the first I came up with when I decided it was time for an update. It's been a few weeks, I haven't blogged since the first week of my time back on campus. I've been facing a minor case of writer's block and occupied with a few other things.

Firstly, thank you everyone from the bottom of my heart for all the views on the story of my third Sabaton concert. (calling it a story because its to amateur-like to be considered a "review") I didn't think it would blow up that much, and this never happens unless I share it in places like that.

Of course, the criticism I despised was when someone said that it was too fangirl-ish which is "super annoying" to read. Well, don't let the door hit you on the way out pal, writing in a fangirl-ish way, without being too rabid, is what makes my writing authentic, and this isn't a professional metal review blog like Loudwire. My blog = my writing style. I don…

Battle Ready for the Third Uprising

WARSAW RISE!!!!! .......and cue the epic riff!

Well, here I am post-gig after Sabaton last night with a sore throat but a happy heart. It felt like only yesterday that I scored a ticket and the gig came up so fast. I had placement to focus on and almost forgot that it was happening until I had more free time.
I greatly looked forward to seeing them as they are one of those bands holding a special place in my heart, and now, it's my third time. I spent the whole morning and afternoon doing homework, and when I ran out of things to do, I found myself lying around staring at the ceiling waiting until it was close to the time where I could get ready.

Yes it is officially a tradition, I will always wear the complete gear to every Sabaton gig from now on. Fully prepared for battle! Actually, earlier that day I had a nice conversation with whoever runs their Facebook page (probably the webmaster...I think his name is Krister, or maybe it's someone else). I commented saying I was wea…
